2025/26 Season Update

The 2025 season is shaping up to be another compelling one for CUHC, with strong performances across the club, several teams in a promotion hunt, and Varsity looming as the focal point for the weeks ahead.

The Women’s Blues have been delivering standout performances across the formats. Indoors, they reached the Super 6s Division 2 Finals, finishing an impressive fourth and securing automatic qualification for Division 2 next season. Outdoors, they currently sit mid-table in Conference Midlands yet remain just seven points off the top in what is an exceptionally tight league. Their dominance in BUCS Premier South, where they currently lead the table, underlines how well the squad matches up against university opposition and bodes well ahead of Varsity.

The Men’s Blues have returned from the winter break looking to build some form. Fresh off a commanding 6-0 victory, the squad has looked sharp and reinvigorated since the turn of the year and a trip to Old Thornes. Building on last season’s emphatic Varsity win, the Light Blues will be targeting another statement performance on the 15th, with building momentum the goal.

The Wanderers are enjoying a great run and are in contention for a rare double promotion. Under the guidance of new coaches Erik and Will, the team has embraced a new style of free flowing, attacking hockey translating into consistent wins and confidence as they push towards the top of the tables.

The Nomads have faced a challenging campaign following last season’s remarkable double promotion. Adjusting to tougher competition has not been easy, but a recent first Saturday victory has provided a much-needed boost. With attention now turning towards Varsity, the squad will be looking to channel that momentum into a strong finish to the season.

The Squanderers are steadily finding their feet in Division 2 NW, locked in a tight battled around the middle of the table. Each result carries weight in a league with fine margins and their growing familiarity is beginning to show.

The Beds find themselves in a similar position, with four teams separated by just two points around them. Everything is still to play for, consistency over the coming weeks will be key.

The Blunderers are once again right in the promotion mix, currently sitting second. There has been some great hockey played and with Varsity at Iffley Road on the horizon, and hopes for a second Varsity victory this year, the Blundies are looking strong!

The Rovers are well-placed in fourth, with ambitions set on climbing further up the table demonstrated by a resounding 13-0 victory last weekend. With March 1st just a month away, the squad will be aiming to convert strong league performances into a decisive result come Iffley.
