It was great to see so many familiar faces return to Cambridge to celebrate CUHC on alumni weekend.
Saturday evening kicked off with an insightful conversation with Nick Parkes, former Men's Blues captain, led by Will Stubbs. We heard about Nick's illustrious international career, typified by representing his country at the Commonwealth Games, alongside his favourite memories of the famous Wilberforce Road. Many of the current CUHC members were delighted to hear about the origin of Ginger Toma too...
Speaking of the heralded drink, the group moved swiftly onto the Hawks' Club where more tales, games, and fun was had. Nick and Sam Grimshaw showed their skill at bouncing coins into glasses, and some even enjoyed dancing in Mash!
The Sunday brought some sore heads but also some quality hockey. The men's alumni team, looking remarkably similar to London Edwardians, gave the current Blues and Wandies a good game running out 4-1 victors. The women's game was a much tighter affair, a 2-2 draw a fair result.
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces back in town and we can't wait for more of the same next January!
